The Trust We Lost!
Where has the trust, morals and pride gone? Just about every day, our county pursues a criminal case that rocks communities.
We send our children to school to get an education. But there is always that group of teachers that break the law, by have inappropriate relationship with a minor, this is a felony.
In most states if a student is under 18, the charge would be rape of a child. Not only is it a federal crime it is a massive breach of trust.” You do NOT cross that line with students. The teacher is in a position of authority.
Because teachers are entrusted to interact with students using the highest level of integrity. We took a survey many took a strong approach and agreed that the age of a minor (if that person is a student of a teacher) to age 21 – not age 18.
This policy would recognize the special position of trust and authority teachers hold over their students. Teachers follow students through incredibly important stages of development. Educators are with kids from six to eight hours a day, five days a week.
They are some of the influential people in a child’s life. To use their power and influence to start a sexual relationship is deeply inappropriate. Don’t take my child’s virginity by manipulating them! Do your job, teach and mentor please allow them to enjoy their child hood.
