Court records reveal that authorities utilized text messages, witnesses, security footage, and phone-tracking data to construct a case against Maxwell Anderson, 33, of Milwaukee, who stands accused of the murder and dismemberment of Sade Robinson, 19, with whom he went on a date. Anderson faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, mutilating a corpse, and arson, as per the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office.

The discovery of a severed leg, preliminarily identified as Robinson’s, near Warnimont Park initiated the investigation. Family members declined to comment, expressing their distress, while Anderson’s representatives could not be reached.

Details from the complaint outline the grisly findings: the severed leg, the painted toes, and the absence of decomposition. Robinson’s friend reported her missing to the police after she failed to show up for work and stopped responding to calls and messages. Subsequent investigations led to the recovery of Robinson’s burnt vehicle and further gruesome discoveries near the site.

Forensic analysis, including text exchanges and phone tracking, formed a crucial part of the investigation. The exchanges between Robinson and Anderson, discussing their meeting at a seafood restaurant and subsequent activities, were pivotal. Surveillance footage corroborated their movements, leading up to Robinson’s last known location near Anderson’s residence.

Additional footage captured suspicious activities, including a figure descending towards the beach and a man walking away from a burning vehicle, later identified as Anderson. His subsequent arrest and the recovery of incriminating evidence from his car and residence strengthened the case against him.

Milwaukee County Sheriff Denita Ball commended the relentless efforts of law enforcement in pursuing justice for Robinson and her family. Anderson faces the possibility of life imprisonment if convicted of homicide, according to the criminal complaint.
